These designs came from the TING HEXAGRAM - which is found within the IChing (Taoist). - it is an original stylised Mandala using the basic spectrum of colours representing the Chakras.
The image was then manipulated, to allude to the original mirrored left-facing Sanskrit SWASTIKA - an auspicious symbol, and in particular the mark denotes good luck (NOTE: this is NOT the same as the repugnant NAZI version !!)
The coloring is interesting and the overal shape of the logo in relation to the words is great but it still seems too generic to me. --babadink
Another design borrows from the Power Button Logo found widely on computer hardware and electronic goods. It has been flipped horizontally to represent a "reversal of power" - or perhaps a "return to power" - that is, away from hierarchies and power hungry organisatiuon structures and towards a more natural, grass roots movement ?
It uses the Maiandra GD font which is associated with the arts and crafts movement of the early 1900's. The logo has, overall a very clean and simple look.
It also looks a bit like a tree ? or perhaps an entrance into an arena ? or a lightbulb - all of which are pretty cool too ?
This design is from the Open Source Yoga Facebook group. It uses muted colours - really they are subtle tones - and the OS device appears to have been inspired by Zen (Buddhist) Calligraphy (the brushed circle symbolises enlightenment) - would look good on a T-shirt
I like the typeface used in this, as well as the calligraphy O, but the snake may be too obscure. It took me a minute to make the connection (kundalini, presumably) but it's not visually apparent to someone with minimal knowledge. -- babadink
